1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly: phone number (for authentication), name, gender, date of birth, bio, photos, interests, and location data. We also collect usage data including matches, messages, date check-ins, and safety session data.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used to: create and manage your account, match you with compatible users, suggest curated date venues, provide safety features (SOS, check-ins, trusted contacts), improve our matching algorithm, and send you important account notifications.
3. Location Data
We collect location data to match you with nearby users, suggest venues in your area, and power safety features like GPS check-ins. Location data is only collected when you explicitly update it in the app. We do not continuously track your location in the background.
4. Safety Features
When you activate a safety session, we store your check-in status and trusted contact phone number. SOS alerts are sent to your designated trusted contact. This data is retained for 90 days for safety purposes and then permanently deleted.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share limited information with: your matches (name, photos, bio, interests — never your phone number), venue partners (anonymized check-in data), and law enforcement when required by law or in response to valid legal process.
6. Data Retention
Your account data is retained while your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting support@wemeetwemet.com, or delete your account directly from the app (Profile → Delete My Account). Deletion is processed within 30 days.
7. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS 1.3), secure token-based authentication, rate limiting, and regular security audits. Your phone number is never exposed to other users.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to: access your personal data, correct inaccurate data, delete your account and data, opt out of non-essential communications, and export your data in a portable format. Contact support@wemeetwemet.com for any requests.
9. Children
WeMeetWeMet is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If we discover an account belongs to a minor, we will delete it and all associated data.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced in-app and by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
